It’s needless to say that the launch of the Samsung Galaxy SII is one of the most anticipated US market launches this summer. Here, across the Atlantic, we have been reading all the raving reviews of the mighty droid, and hoped we will soon get a chance to get our hands on Samsung’s flagship. Well, it looks like the wait will be over any moment now, people.
I just got this heavy parcel from the U.S. branch of Samsung. Inside was this box, and at the sight of it, my pulse skyrocketed.. I felt like a child on Christmas. It’s finally here, the U.S. version of the Galaxy S II, I thought.
Quite a teaser, eh? Probably the best I’ve seen. It brought a mixture of excitement and sadly, disappointment to my geeky heart. The telescope is definitely a nice reference to the name of the handset. There is no need to tell you though, that I prefer to watch this particular galaxy from way closer.
All in all, it looks like the Samsung Galaxy S II will indeed be coming soon to the United States. And now that I have this telescope, I expect to be among the first to see it coming.

ive Forever or Die Trying. Okay, so these originally came out during Comic-Con right at the same time the trailer hit, but we never featured them, so I thought why not. Fox released a set of three posters, one official poster and two character banners, for Andrew Niccol's In Time, the sci-fi/non-sci-fi action film starring Justin Timberlake and Amanda Seyfried. The extended footage explained the concept well, basically a "future" where no one ages past 25, so they have time imprinted on their arm, that's now currency and you can indeed steal time, so JT does and shit does down. I'm not too keen on this yet, but I do love the imagery.
In the future people stop aging at 25 and must work to buy themselves more time, but when a young man finds himself with more time than he can imagine he must run from the corrupt police force to save his life.
In Time, originally titled Now and also I'm.mortal at one point, is both written and directed by New Zealand-born screenwriter-director Andrew Niccol, of only Gattaca, S1m0ne and Lord of War previously. He's also credited for writing The Truman Show and The Terminal, and is attached to direct Stephanie Meyer's The Host adaptation. Fox is finally bringing In Time to theaters starting on October 28th this fall.

Here’s an idea you might get after watching “Cowboys & Aliens,” which should instead have the title “Cowboys, Indians & Aliens.” We in America can fix the deficit, create full employment, and draw ourselves, Iran, Venezuela, North Korea and Cuba into a friendly alliance. This is how: you reestablish the draft for men, put women to work at the jobs the men in the armed forces were doing, and get China to forgive our entire debt in return for our military might. We provoke a war with Mars, use our awesome weaponry to help defeat the green people who land on various spots on our planet, and bring all nations together against a common enemy. We created an alliance with the Soviet Union in 1941, didn’t we? Remember the expression: the enemy of my enemy is my friend.
Now here is where “Cowboys & Aliens” fits in. In the picture directed with considerable passion and a lot of special effects by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”) and written by five scripters utilizing three story-tellers, two rival gangsters are brought together, Apache Indians join with the white guys, and a sheriff makes his peace with a man he had wanted to turn over to the feds for murder and robbery. And oh, a bratty, rich kid gains maturity. How did they do it? They did not provoke a war with the aliens but met them on home grounds in New Mexico (where else?), in a war that required the cooperation of formerly hostile earthlings.
“Cowboys & Aliens” is a strange fusion of a genre associated with the past (Westerns are typically set between 1865 and 1890) and one usually thought of as the future. The melding does not exactly work, largely because the initial segment, the one that deals strictly with cowboys, guns, and bar fights, is so good, so well choreographed without the need for much CGI, that the latter parts pale in comparison. Think of Robert Rodriguez’s “From Dusk Till Dawn,” about two criminals and their hostages who take refuge in a place that becomes populated with vampires. Everything was going fine until the unfortunate surprise shows that those we thought of as normal human beings (like most of us) are not what they seemed.
The opening, which sets the tone, is terrific. In this film, executive produced in part by no less than Steven Spielberg, we see a barren landscape in Absolution, New Mexico with no signs of human life. Suddenly Jake Lonergan (Daniel Craig) pops up, coming out of a deep sleep. He sees a strange gadget on his wrist and realizes that he has lost his memory. He knows not who he is, whence he came, and whom he loved. He strolls into town in time to save the folks from a robbery by Percy Dolarhyde (Paul Dano), the last man who needs to rob as he is the spoiled, bratty son of Woodrow Dolarhyde (Harrison Ford), the rich cattle baron. Jake learns who he is through a series of flashbacks that come and go throughout the story, faces down Woodrow Dolarhyde as though upgrading Gary Cooper’s role as Marshall Will Kane in Fred Zinnemann’s “High Noon,” and is confronted by Sheriff John Taggart (Keith Carradine) who clues him in about his past. When UFO’s looking like bats out of hell descend on the town, bullets are useless. The only way to confront the hostile aliens is to round up everybody including former enemies like the Apaches and rival gangs and allow Jake to use his magic bracelet to down the strange flying objects and pulverize the ten-foot aliens.
The Harrison Ford – Daniel Craig combination will likely mean big box office when the picture opens on July 29th and justly so. Ford’s character speaks menacingly just this side of camp while Craig anchors the movie as the only guy who can keep the New Mexico desert in the hands of Americans. But once the cowboys fire at the monstrous foreigners with revolvers and, much more efficiently with shotguns, the tone changes to generic zombie movie. Heads are blown off, blood gushes, and before you can say “Shaun of the Dead” or “1950s aliens,” the green things find themselves no match. Still, it’s not until the beautiful Ella Swenson (Olivia Wilde), whose real identity is kept hidden for most of the story, takes action, nobody is safe, though if Ms. Wilde is intent on being more than a pretty face, her role does not allow her enough latitude.
Matthew Libatique’s lensing convinces us that we’re in a time before autos were invented, when horse thieves were summarily hanged, and cattle roamed the plains rather than swelter in abominable factory farms.

Taylor Kitsch, Alexander Skarsgard, Brooklyn Decker, Liam Neeson and Rihanna star in the Peter Berg-directed actioner, which features a fleet trying to defend their ships from ... aliens?
Don't remember those from the classic Hasbro board game on which the movie is based? You're not alone.

Mumbai: First Salman Khan`s former girlfriend, actress Katrina Kaif, was roped in for the ‘Bodyguard’ item number and now his security aide Shera has shot for the much-talked about song.
Shera will not only feature in ‘Bodyguard Item Song’, but he will also be seen dancing and grooving with Salman.
"Yes, I have shot for the song with Salman bhai and all this seems like a magic. Salman bhai is such a huge star and for someone like him showing such trust in me is nothing short of a miracle," Shera, who has been with Salman for more than 15 years, said in a statement.
"In front of the whole world, he said that this is my most trusted man. Isn`t that great?
"This is the first time I will be in front of the camera with Salman bhai doing this item song. He just showed me some dance steps and I did a lot of rehearsal before the final take. It was scary and I was nervous. I will never forget this experience," he added.
Recently Salman had also made Shera unveil the first look of ‘Bodyguard.”
The film, directed by Siddique and produced by Atul Agnihotri, is a remake of the director`s 2010 Malayalam film, ‘Bodyguard.’ It is scheduled for an Aug 31 release.

Now that the Ra.One shoot is over, Shah Rukh Khan is feeling a sense of emptiness.

Fans of Sanjay Dutt will be glad to know that he is doing a cameo in the year’s much-anticipated film Ra.One. His brawny, stylish look from the film has been leaked on the internet. It’s said that Shahrukh Khan was so impressed with Sanjay’s beefed-up physique that he asked him to do a cameo in the film.
Sanjay Dutt’s Ra.One look is creating a lot of buzz and the people have even started comparing him with none other than Hollywood’s legendary action star Sylvester Stallone. In the image, Sanjay looks like a stylish fighter with tattoos, shades, and is smoking a cigar. Are the tattoos especially forRa.One?
No, says Sanjay. “I have only the tattoos which you can see, no more tattoos for ‘Ra.One’. I haven’t done anything special as these tattoos were always there on my body,” the star is quoted as saying.

All ye rumourmongers better zip your mouth! Kareena Kapoor has answers to all your questions. She is certainly at the best phase of her life and all that positivity shows in her films and look. Her recent Filmfare interview says it all.

The IMAX Corporation and Sony Pictures Entertainment have announced that The Amazing Spider-Man will be released to IMAX theatres simultaneously with the film's worldwide release on July 3rd, 2012. The film stars Andrew Garfield, Emma Stone, Rhys Ifans, Denis Leary, Campbell Scott, Irrfan Khan, Martin Sheen and Sally Field. Rory Bruer, President Worldwide Distribution, Sony Pictures had the following to say about the announcement…
"We couldn't be more excited to be able to offer this extraordinary new Spider-Man adventure in IMAX. Marc Webb and the entire production team have been working tirelessly to deliver a 3D motion picture that will take the Spider-Man experience to a whole new level. Audiences will literally feel like they are swinging through the streets of New York and that will only be accentuated when seen in IMAX."
Despite some odd production delays and hiatuses, Columbia Pictures' Men in Black III is still in the works, and set to hit theaters May 25th, 2012 next year. While there wasn't a Hall presentation for the sequel, Sony did plant some rather interesting Men in Black tidbits around Comic-Con. I caught a photo of the giant Neuralizer (above) in my Preview Night gallery, but it was our friends at SlashFilm who discovered the Studio Art Technology booth and got shots of a complete collection of weaponry used in the movie. A handful of futuristic prop guns, similar to the infamous weapons from the first two movies, were on display.
My guess is that the last photo of the weapon with small green brain (I think?) in the middle of it looks like something the villain uses - plus having a brain in it is pretty cool. That double-barreled one also looks like a bad guy's weapon, but the rest are pretty sleek/badass upgrades to the normal shiny MIB gear. It's cool to see this stuff, but we have no clue how they fit into the film yet since we haven't even seen a trailer or poster.
Men in Black III is once again directed by Barry Sonnenfeld, also of the first two. This is said to be set in the year 1969 and involves Agent J (Will Smith) time-traveling back to that year, where he meets up with a young Agent K (Josh Brolin) for some plot involving, most likely, our landing on the Moon. The movie is finished shooting and Columbia has it scheduled for May 25th 2012, so we'll keep you updated on it.
Marvel has debuted concept art from artists Ryan Meinerding, Charlie Wen and Andy Park for their upcoming The Avengers team-up in which Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), the Incredible Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), Captain America (Chris Evans), Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner) and Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) assemble to become a superhero crime-fighting group.
The film is directed by Joss Whedon and is slated for a May 4, 2012 from Walt Disney Pictures and this batch of art gives us our first look at what Mark Ruffalo is expected to look like as the Hulk as he steps in for Ed Norton who last played the gamma ray infected beast.
Relativity Media has been the busiest studio of the bunch at Comic Con when it comes to releasing new marketing assets as I have yet another new poster for you to gaze upon, this time a more official poster for Tarsem Singh's Immortals.
The film is set to hit theaters on November 11,2011, centering on Henry Cavill (Man of Steel, "The Tudors") as Theseus, a warrior from Greek mythology, who leads a fight against the imprisoned titans in a story where gods fight alongside mortals. Phaedra (Frieda Pinto), an oracle priestess joins Theseus on his quest to prevent the cataclysmic war from erupting.
If you thought Salman Khan was at his stylish best in Dabangg, you might change your view after watching this breath-taking first trailer of the brawny Khan’s next film Bodyguard.
Salman Khan stands atop a moving train as the promo rolls with a voiceover of the superstar. “Meri ek khasiyat hai: main maarta kum aur ghaseetta jyada hoon”. Well that’s the signature dialogue of Salman in this film. Add to that another punchy one: “Mujh par ek ehsaan karna, ki mujh par koi ehsaan na karna”.
In the movie, Salman plays a bodyguard named Lovely Singh who is hired to protect the daughter (Kareena Kapoor) of a rich politician. So he accompanies her to her campus, and even her class, and dare any teacher scold her or throw a chalk at Kareena!
But then Kareena plays a prank on Lovely Singh and he falls seriously in love with her. Will this love story have a happy ending?

A birdie chirped to us that Dhobi Ghat cutie Prateik (Babbar), who will soon be seen in Prakash Jha’s Aarakshan, will be doing a new film called Isshq. The actor is apparently doing ‘look’ tests for the film, which will be directed by a newbie. What’s more, Prateik will get to romance a new girl in this one. Even as more details are awaited, the actor is currently shooting Gautham Menon’s remake of Tamil film Vinnaithandi Varuvaya. We don’t know yet how he looks in the South remake, but Prateik is sporting a neat look in Aarakshan. In real life though, he seems to prefer the hippie-meets-grungy look, which even his fans are kinda getting tired of. Hope this Isshq will make Prateik get rid of his unkempt appearance for good!
Just a day after bootleg footage appeared online, Sony Pictures has premiered the official teaser trailer for “The Amazing Spider-Man,” director Marc Webb’s hotly anticipated franchise reboot. The trailer will receive its theatrical release attached to Marvel’s “Captain America: The First Avenger.”
As anyone who saw the shaky leaked video already knows, the teaser provides a compelling glimpse at Spider-Man’s origin – Peter’s father, Gwen Stacy and Aunt May and Uncle Ben all make appearances – before breaking into a vertigo-inducing point-of-view sequence that sends viewers swinging and leaping from rooftop to rooftop above the streets of New York City.
Sony will bring Webb and stars to Andrew Garfield and Emma Stone to Comic-Con International in San Diego on Friday for a presentation in Hall H. Stay tuned to Comic Book Resources for coverage of the panel.
Salman Khan’s upcoming film Bodyguard just got hotter. The movie will open with a sizzling item song from none other than Katrina Kaif.
Salman Khan is taking personal interest in making sure that brother-in-law Atul Agnihotri’s production turns out to be a crowd puller at theatres. Buzz is that he has asked Katrina Kaif to do an item song for the opening credits of Bodyguard that stars Kareena Kapoor opposite Salman.
The item will be on the lines of the opening credits of several Bond movies, and it will be a challenge for Katrina to make the item look slick, sexy and stylish. In fact, Salman has told Katrina to outdo her Sheila shtick with theBodyguard item.
The song will be composed by Himesh Reshammiya and choreographed by Ganesh Acharya, both of who owe a lot to Salman for their fame and success. Himesh doesn’t compose for films that he doesn’t act in, but he has made an exception for Salman and is coming up with a perky item song, we hear.
However, Katrina’s item might turn out to be a thorn in the side of Kareena Kapoor who certainly wouldn’t want to be outshined by Katrina in the film that has Bebo as the solo heroine, with the other girl Hazel Keech mostly being a supporting actor.
Whatever the case, we’re sure the fans would throng to the theatres to watch Katrina’s Bond-inspired item song.
Bodyguard is one of the most awaited films of Bollywood this year and the reason is that it stars Salman Khan, the current darling of the box office.
The actor has been shooting for the film with Kareena Kapoor and Hazel Keech. On the sets, Salman has been in his usually good moods -- there have been more of that following the blockbuster success of Ready.

Harry Potter And the Deathly Hallows Part 2 has taken the second biggest opening ever for a Hollywood film in India and the biggest opening of 2011 for a Hollywood release.
The first weekend collections are around 14.50 crore nett which is a big achievement due to the competition from Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara which raked up huge numbers at multiplexes.
The best opening ever for a Hollywood release is the 17.50 crore nett of 2012 which was released in 2009.

Since it’s apparently the year of the sex buddy comedy, a new red band trailer for Friends with Benefits has been released. While I’m a fan of Justin Timberlake and Mila Kunis, and quite enjoyed director Will Gluck’s Easy A, this movie just looks painfully unfunny. The newest red band trailer really doesn’t do much to change my mind. The highlights (ie. only amusing parts) are Emma Stone and Andy Samberg, but it seems they only appear for small cameo-ish roles. However, Hunter saw the film and enjoyed it—he’s even mentioned in the ad—so maybe it works better as a whole. But I’m not holding my breath.

No one doubted that the final Harry Potter film would be huge. Just how huge, however, is taking even box office watchers by surprise. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2 already crushed the domestic midnight record with its $43.5 million launch. Today, estimates for its first full day give the film the single day record as well. With $92.1 million from its 4,375 locations, Deathly Hallows 2 easily topped the $72.7 million earned by Twilight Saga: New Moon in 2009. It is now all but certain that Harry Potter will also snatch the all-time weekend record away from The Dark Knight as most projections put the film at $180 million for its first three days. Internationally,Deathly Hallows 2 took in $82.5 million on Wednesday and Thursday for a worldwide total of $173 million and counting. Other records now lining up to be broken include the fastest film to break $100 and $200 million domestically, biggest worldwide opening of all-time and so many, many more. Meanwhile, the one film that dared to compete with Potter this weekend was Disney’s Winnie the Pooh. From 2,405 locations Pooh took in an estimated $2.9 million. Full details and analysis tomorrow.

Warner Bros. has settled on Noam Murro (Smart People) to direct their 300 prequel 300: Battle of Artemisia (formerly titled Xerxes). Last month we reported that the studio was deciding between Murro and Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown) to take the helm of the project, and now Heat Vision reports that the studio settled on Murro, deciding to set Collet-Serra to helm Akira. The now-titled 300: Battle of Artemisia (because apparently people need to know that this is going to be like 300) is based on Frank Miller’s graphic novel Xerxes which tells the story of the king’s rise to greatness, with the Battle of Artemisium being a major focal point.
Zach Snyder, who directed 300, wrote the script alongside Kurt Johnstad, though he was too busy with Man of Steel to return for the high priority follow-up. No word on whether Rodrigo Santoro is returning as Xerxes, but I’ll be interested to see who they cast as Themistocles, the leader and master of strategy for the Greeks during the Battle of Artemisium. Murro is also attached to direct Die Hard 5 for Fox.
Yes, it's true. A startling (and vaguely insulting) number of American consumers ignored our review and purchased Duke Nuke Forever, rocketing it to the #2 position on the NPD sales charts for the month of June. Perhaps they just didn't want to ask for refunds on those 14-year-old pre-orders. The Duke occupies a position on the charts just under its equally retro (in a different way) Take-Two contemporary, L.A. Noire.
Also notable on the sales charts is the debut of another time-lost title, The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time 3D. At #5, it is the first 3DS exclusive to chart in the NPD top ten. Find the top ten best-selling games listed after the break.
It's definitely a triumphant month for the past, as total game sales were down from $1.15 billion in June of 2010 to $1.03 billion in June of this year. Once again, however, Microsoft is happy, declaring its Xbox 360 the only console in the US to show year-over-year growth. The Xbox was the top-selling console with 507,000 units which Microsoft claims is "nearly twice as many units as other current-generation platforms" this month.

Fans of 2010′s Metro 2033 are going to love the recently released footage from the E3 demo for Metro: Last Light. The sequel takes place after the events of Metro 2033 and by the looks of things will improve greatly and the flaws that hampered the first title from commercial success.
Developer 4A Games is quick to note that all footage is in-game and pre-alpha, though the game looks pretty solid -- there’s little need for the disclaimer. The lighting is sharp and the environments are full of detail -- helping to bring the world to life. Metro 2033 was loved for its atmosphere, and 4A looks to keep the trend going in Metro: Last Light. A lot of thought has been put into the environments and it conveys the dreary vibe throughout the demo
After starring in what might be his last Mission: Impossible 4 movie, Tom Cruise is already moving on to a new action franchise. Cruise has penned a deal with Paramount Pictures and Skydance Productions to star as Jack Reacher, a retired military policeman turned crime-fighting drifter, in One Shot. Based on the novel series by Lee Child, Reacher is a reoccurring character known for his stoic nature, brutality in dealing with villains and his imposing size. The plot of One Shot revolves around Reacher investigating an accused sniper who gunned down five seemingly innocent victims. Though it is set in a Midwestern town, the movie is expected to film in Pittsburgh. Christopher McQuarrie (The Way of the Gun) is attached as the writer/director. News of Cruise’s casting comes by way of Deadline and has stirred up a bit of discussion among fans of the novels. While Reacher’s formidable size (listed at 6’5’’, 250lbs) may confuse some as to Cruise as a casting choice (Cruise is only 6’5’’ if you’re dyslexic), the author of One Shot is squarely in his corner, saying, “Reacher’s size in the books is a metaphor for an unstoppable force, which Cruise portrays in his own way.” Having seen his performance in Paramount’s upcoming Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol, the powers-that-be apparently agree with Child’s opinion and greenlit Cruise for the role.
After Ghost Protocol hits theaters on December 16th, Cruise can next be seen as 80’s rock star Stacee Jaxx in Adam Shankman’s (Hairspray) Rock of Ages. Cruise is also attached to star in Joseph Kosinski’s (TRON: Legacy) sci-fi war film, Oblivion
McQuarrie, who wrote 2008’s Valkyrie, starring Cruise, also wrote The Tourist, to which Cruise was briefly attached. His screenplay work can next be seen in James Mangold’s (3:10 to Yuma) The Wolverine, which is slated to begin filming this October.
Katrina Kaif turns 27 on Saturday, July 16. The lady hasn’t planned any big party for the special day but the Zindagi Na Milegi Dobara gang might surprise her.

While we’ve been hearing about and expecting the first 3D transistors to arrive from Intel, it looks like Apple and its A6 processor might get there first, for the iPhone 5. A report by the Taiwanese EETimes says TSMC is already sampling the 28nm A6 processor for Apple, to determine the yield rates for the new 3D process.
There are reports of the iPhone 5 being delayed due to space and heat issues with the A5 processor (the iPad 2’s CPU) in the smaller form factor. This is considered the biggest reason for accelerating development on the A6 processor, but Apple may also be trying to reduce its reliability on Samsung for the A5 chip. Expected gains from the Apple A6 and the new process is a performance boost of up to 30%, and a reduction in power consumption by nearly 50%, meaning lowered heat output.
Intel’s 3D transistor technology, or Tri-Gate, is expected in 22nm Ivy Bridge processors that are scheduled to arrive by the end of 2011. TSMC’s 3D IC design, the one Apple is reportedly using on the A6 processor, is also said to be less complex, relying on interconnects communicating between die layers, but in a far more effective fashion than previous layering technology seen in the A4 and A5.
TSMC said its commercial 28nm production is scheduled to begin by the end of 2011 as well, so we’ll see who gets there first – Apple or Intel. Samsung's 28nm production should also commence in the same period. In the meanwhile, other rumours speculate that Apple might release an A4-based Apple iPhone 4S in the time it takes TSMC to finish up with the A6, which will be destined for the iPhone 5.
You may not always need to download any mail attachment; just view and check if everything is in place. The “view” feature helps you to do this take. In case of compressed mail attachments, however, you are required to download them whether you want or not. Thanks to Google, now you can use Google Docs Viewer to preview compressed file types ZIP and RAR as well. With the new “view” button, you can now view all the contents within your browser.
After you have clicked on view button, the ZIP/RAR file is opened in a new tab where you get to see the contents of the file. When you hover over the list you can activate a menu by clicking Actions. You’ll be able to View items supported by Google Docs Viewer and Print (PDF) those that we offer PDF support. Save to Google Docs and Download appear for all files.
Google says on its official blog that the new feature works for archives inside archive files too. This means, if you have a ZIP file inside a RAR file or vice versa, you can still preview them. All you need to do is click on that file to get access to that contents of the archive.
The new feature is also available on mobile versions of Google Docs. For each viewable file (including embedded ZIP or RAR archives) there is a link to view. The Google Docs Viewer now supports over 15 different file types such as MS Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Photoshop, .XPS and .ZIP and .RAR.
Another day, another beta. Adobe's latest beta release of its desktop Flash Player -- that's version 11 -- is now available for your downloading pleasure. This particular build brings with it Stage3D APIs, for "advanced" 2D and 3D rendering, 64-bit support, H.264 encoding, and 7.1 surround sound. We knew it was coming , but Europe's beloved music service just officially launched stateside, bringing with it 15 million tracks with on-demand access, MP3 import, an offline mode, and social media integration. This morning's first batch of news items begins with the proposed 300 sequel and moves to more Dark Knight Rises rumors, talk of Darren Aronofsky's Noah finding distribution, more casting in Spielberg's Lincoln and G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes adds two more. I know you can hardly wait, so let's get to it…
The sequel to 300, which was previously expected to be titled Xerxes, is still moving forward, though under a new title. The film will now be called 300: Battle of Artemisia and with Zack Snyder busy with Man of Steel a new helmer will be taking over and apparently Noam Murro (Smart People) and Jaume Collet-Serra (Unknown,House of Wax) are the two directors in contention.
If you ask me, Collet-Serra's visual sense seems to match up with Snyder's a bit more than Murro, though I have only seen Murro's dramedy Smart People, which doesn't really compare. That film, however, isn't why Murro is in consideration. In fact it's work such as the live-action short film he directed for the videogame "Halo" as featured just above that has his name in the door and what got him attached to direct the potential Die Hard 5 for Fox. There is no word on a start date.
Wu Tang Clan rapper-turned-actor, RZA, and D.J. Cotrona are the latest to join G.I. Joe 2: Cobra Strikes for director Jon Chu. Cotrona will play Flint, a Joe soldier best known in the toyline and 1980s comics for his shotgun and beret. RZA will play a martial arts master named the Blind Master who in the past trained Joe commandoes Snake-Eyes and Jinx (Elodie Yung). Channing Tatum, Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson, Ray Park and Byung-hun Lee co-star. The sequel to 2009's G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra is set to hit theaters on August 10, 2012.
Another day and another rumor surrounding Christopher Nolan's The Dark Knight Rises. This time an insider has given some information regarding the suit Anne Hathaway will allegedly be wearing as Catwoman in the film. Here's what they had to say:
"Anne's outfit is more tactical, like the comic book, than the previous Batman movies. She will definitely be wearing the goggles and it's going to be less sexy than Halle Berry and Michelle Pfeiffer's Catwoman costumes. She's going to look more like a robber."
Adds the insider, "But fan boys shouldn't be worried. This costume is going to be form-fitting enough to make Anne look smoking hot… Everything from the looks in her eyes, her head movements, her body–everything is so feline. The role is taking her to new places," the insider said.

David Strathairn is the latest name to be added to Steven Spielberg's sure-to-be-Oscar-contender Lincoln where he'll play William Seward, Abraham Lincoln's Secretary of State. He joins Daniel Day-Lewis as Lincoln and Sally Field as Mary Todd Lincoln as well as fellow co-stars Tommy Lee Jones, Joseph Gordon-Levitt, Hal Holbrook, James Spader, John Hawkes, Tim Blake Nelson, Bruce McGill, Joseph Cross, Gloria Reuben and David Warshofsky. The film is a biopic on the 16th President of the United States based on the book "Team of Rivals: The Political Genius of Abraham Lincoln" by Doris Kearns Goodwin. Filming is set to begin this fall in Virginia for a late 2012 release through Touchstone Pictures.
Darren Aronofsky's Noah is apparently closer to having a home as Paramount is reportedly moving closer to picking up the film for distribution in a partnership with New Regency, which has been involved all the way through the process.
When the project sparked back to life earlier this month it was said to be carrying a budget around $130 million, but that number now seems to be down to $100 million and Aronofsky has been rumored to be courting Christian Bale for the lead role. Aronofsky has been quoted talking about the film, saying, "Look… It's the end of the world and it's the second most famous ship after the Titanic. So I'm not sure why any studio won't want to make it."
I think one thing is for certain, he didn't base it off Ricky Gervais' stand up routine based on the same material, which you can watch below, but be warned, it is not safe for work.
Directed Zack Snyder (Sucker Punch, 300), produced by Christopher Nolan (Inception, The Dark Knight) and starring Henry Cavill, Amy Adams, Michael Shannon, Diane Lane, Kevin Costner Russell Crowe, Christopher Meloni and Antje Traue, Man of Steel is scheduled to begin production in the coming months for a targeted theatrical release in December 2012.
Plano, Illinois, has been chosen to double as the film's version of Smallville, Kansas -- where Kal El/Clark Kent grew up in DC Comics mythology. A new batch of photos taken on the film's set. similar to last week's images, lend further credence to a super-powered scene in the streets of Smallville.
Call of Juarez: The Cartel is set to launch next week, Tuesday July 19th, and in an attempt to get reluctant gamers interested in the title, Ubisoft has released a new trailer detailing the various mulitplayer modes offered in the modern western shooter.
Players will play as two different factions, either as the police or as the Cartel. This will all seem very familiar to those who have played previous games in the Call of Juarez franchise, with the police acting as the “Lawmen” and the Cartel acting as the “Outlaws.” Standard game modes like Team Deathmatch are present though these modes are not usually what made the Call of Juarez multiplayer stand out in the past.
The game modes detailed throughout the trailer also parallel many of those found in 2009′s Call of Juarez: Bound in Blood. From what this trailer shows, the ‘Robbery Crew’ mode appears to be very similar to the ‘Wild West Legends’ game mode from Bound in Blood, which featured the Outlaw teams trying to secure different objects that the Lawmen defended (think Rush mode from Battlefield but with more varied objectives). ‘Star Witness’ also seems to resemble the ‘Manhunt’ and ‘Wanted’ game modes from Bound in Blood, though at this point it’s hard to tell which game mode Star Witness mimics the most.
Many fans of the series aren’t feeling too keen on the Call of Juarez: The Cartel‘s new look. While moving the franchise to a more modern setting may help it to get noticed by fans of modern shooters, many feel that the new look has made the Call of Juarez franchise “just another shooter” as opposed to the niche title it was before.
It’s hard to tell what the final product will play like based solely on this trailer, but the sub-par graphics certainly don’t seem to land any credence to the theory that the game will be able to stand up against its predecessors. Will you still try out The Cartel despite the changes made to the game, or are excited to see what positives the new direction has brought to the franchise?

"AGNEEPATH releases on January 13th, 2012....," Johar posted on Twitter.
Hrithik Roshan was only 16 years old when Amitabh Bachchan bowled over audiences with his unmatched style in Agneepath. More than 20 years later, when Hrithik was offered the role of Amitabh in the remake of the movie, it wasn’t surprising that the brown-eyed star had cold feet.
Hrithik wasted no time in refusing producer Karan Johar’s offer of the revamped version of ‘Agneepath’, but Karan didn’t give up that easily. Knowing the star, Karan persuaded Hrithik to ‘At least hear it’. When Hrithik budged, director Karan Malhotra went to Spain to narrate the script to him, with a belief that Hrithik wouldn’t refuse once he heard the script.
To everyone’s surprise, 5 minutes into the reading and Hrithik had given his consent! Hrithik was so impressed by the script that he agreed to do the film just by listening to the script narration for a few minutes!
While launching Facebook's Skype-powered video chat service, founder Mark Zuckerberg stressed that some 750 million users on Facebook will help maintain its dominance in social networking segment. It appeared Zuckerberg was trying to play down the hype building around Google's latest social networking move – Google+. However, reports are Google+ is rapidly becoming popular with some 10 millions users joining the new social networking platform within nearly two weeks of the launch. Paul Allen, founder of Ancestry.com and chief executive of Facebook app maker FamilyLink.com, says on his Google+ page that nearly 7.3 million people have joined the social network till July 10 and the figure is likely to reach 10 million by today.

“My surname-based analysis shows that the number of Google+ users worldwide reached 7.3 million yesterday (July 10) – up from 1.7 million users on July 4th. That is a 350% increase in six days. The userbase is growing so quickly that it is challenging for me to keep up, since the number of users of any given surname (even the rare ones I am tracking) seems to be climbing every day.”
“More impressive than last week's growth is the astonishing growth in users from yesterday at mid-day to tonight -- a 30% jump. My latest estimate tonight shows approximately 9.5 million users. This suggests that 2.2 million people have joined Google+ in the past 32-34 hours.”
