Tech News : Thunderbolt Coming To PC in 2012

thunderbolt-150x158

Intel has notified partners that the company will "fully release" its Thunderbolt technology in April 2012. Intel is reportedly preparing to launch Thunderbolt-supported motherboards, notebooks and desktop PCs at that time.
Intel and Apple originally partnered on the new technology which has become standard across Apple's MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini, and iMac. Digitimes reports that the cost of Thunderbolt technology is expected to drop in the second half of 2012, allowing more widespread adoption.
While Apple does offer Thunderbolt across most of its product line, the first Thunderbolt products have been limited to relatively high end devices. More widespread adoption should help drive adoption by accessory makers that will benefit both Mac and PC users that use Thunderbolt.
Intel has always said that they see both USB 3.0 and Thunderbolt as complementary technologies and plans to support both in their 2012 motherboards.

Movie Trailer : Prometheus Movie 2012 Trailer

A teaser clip for Ridley Scott's "Prometheus" has been flying about the Web, drumming up even more anticipation for the movie's summer release.

While this sci-fi thriller may or may not be a prequel to Scott's 1979 "Alien," theLos Angeles Times reports that it is expected to contain some of "Alien's" "original DNA." Entertainment Weekly has helpfully broken down those traits, including the way the titles appear in clips for "Prometheus" and "Alien."

The just-over-a-minute long trailer doesn't tell us much, relying on quick cuts, a pleading apology and a horrified scream to get its point across. We do learn that the story follows a crew of explorers who, as the movie's tagline tells us, went looking for the beginning of mankind and stumbled upon something that "could be our end."

Noomi Rapace, Charlize Theron, Michael Fassbender, Patrick Wilson, Guy Pearce and Idris Elba star in this flick, which opens June 8, 2012.

Movie News : The Hobbit Movie HD Trailer

Joining December's movie trailer-palooza is a clip for the first film in Peter Jackson's "The Hobbit," which takes fans back to the Oscar-winning director's cinematic rendering of J.R.R. Tolkien's Middle-earth.

"The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" takes place before the "Lord of the Rings" trilogy, and follows a young Bilbo Baggins' (Martin Freeman) on a mission to reclaim a treasure held by the dragon Smaug.

The trailer not only introduces us to a young Baggins, but also a company of dwarves, led by Thorin Oakenshield (Richard Armitage). We're also reintroduced to Ian McKellen as Gandalf and Cate Blanchett as Galadriel. Before the two-and-a-half minute trailer is up, we're teased with a shot of Baggins encountering Gollum, as well as the One Ring.

What do you think of the first sneak peek? "The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey" opens December 14, 2012, with the second film ("The Hobbit: There and Back Again") opening December 13, 2013.

Movie News : Clash Of Titans 2 Trailer

Remember the Titans? They’re back.

Wrath of the Titans” is the sequel to 2010′s mostly-failed attempt at Greek mythology, “Clash of the Titans,” the gods vs. gods vs. man blockbuster in which stars from all over the British Commonwealth were allowed to forget about being Greek and just keep their own accents. This iteration, the second in the trilogy, continues in that vein (Sam Worthington, who plays Perseus, sounds distinctly Australian, while Liam Neeson, who plays his father Zeus, sounds distinctly Liam Neeson) but also thankfully forgoes the muddled effects of a botched 3-D conversion.

The sequel seems to be grittier and more realistic, though like any true Hollywood blockbuster intent on sacrificing history for commercial success, it looks to be all action and little nuance. No surprise there. This time around, Perseus has to rescue Zeus from an evil plot hatched by Zeus’s brother Hades and traitorous son Ares.

One new arrival on the scene: Rosamund Pike, known for excellent performances in “Barney’s Version” and “An Education,” takes over as Andromeda from Alexa Davalos, who couldn’t participate due to scheduling conflicts.

Check out the trailer below and let us know in the comments whether you plan to see it, or save your appetite for Ridley Scott’s “Prometheus,” also coming in 2012 (what is it about Greek mythology these days?)

Music News : We Found Love No 1 On Music Chart Last 8 Weeks

Rihanna found love in a hopeless place...well not really! She's spent eight weeks at the top charts which makes 'We Found Love' her longest leading hot 100 single!

We thought Riri would never top 'Umbrella' but nonetheless 'We Found Love' did the trick! The also takes over as the longest-leading No. 1 on the Hot 100 this year. Adele spend some time at the top with 'Rolling in the Deep' but since the singer has been out of the scene lately Rihanna thought it was time to take over.

The singer has had one hot year with her new album Talk That Talk  that opened to rave reviews from critics including myself!! I'm still jamming to 'Talk That Talk', 'Drunk on Love' and 'Do Ya Thang'.

A few days ago we gave you the behind the scenes look at Rihanna's 'You Da One' where we see Riri turn blonde for the video. And I can't wait to see it!

Are you still listening to Rihanna's 'We Found Love' or have you moved on to a new favorite? Tell us!

We Found Love Lyrics :

It's like you're screaming, and no one can hear
You almost feel ashamed
That someone could be that important
That without them, you feel like nothing
No one will ever understand how much it hurts
You feel hopeless; like nothing can save you
And when it's over, and it's gone
You almost wish that you could have all that bad stuff back
So that you could have the good

Yellow diamonds in the light
Now we’re standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine
What it takes to come alive

It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
But I’ve gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

Shine a light through an open door
Love a life I will divide
Turn away 'cause I need you more
Feel the heartbeat in my mind

It’s the way I’m feeling I just can’t deny
But I’ve gotta let it go

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

Yellow diamonds in the light
Now we’re standing side by side
As your shadow crosses mine

We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place
We found love in a hopeless place

Movie News : Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu Official Music Video

Ok folks! The jodi of Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor rocks in the upcoming film Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu as is verily evident from this song which you MUST NOT MISS.
Getting drunk on the streets of Las Vegas is a new high altogether as Rahul and Riana (played by Imran Khan and Kareena Kapoor) discover in this title song freshly released by Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions.
We see Kareena Kapoor and Imran Khan pub-hopping and carousing like there’s no tomorrow. They tank up, ride the segway, dance on the escalator, bow to a buffalo, miss being hit by a speeding car, get punished by a cop whom they also make dance -- all in one night of drunken revelry.
The music of Ek Main Aur Ekk Tu is composed by Amit Trivedi. The film is directed by Shakun Batra and will release on February 10. It will be a Valentine’s Day treat for sure.

Tech News : 700,000 Android devices activated Per day

Android's growth just keeps climbing, with the latest number now over 700,000 activations per day, per Andy Rubin on Google+. That's an increase from 550k per day in July, 500k per day in June, and 400k per day in May. Basically, it's a slow and steady growth that's perfectly believable given Android's increase in marketshare this year.

Last month, Google revealed that over 200 million Android devices had been activated to date, double the number of devices from just six months earlier. The current pace of activations probably hasn't pushed Google beyond the 250 million iOS devices that Tim Cook touted in October, but at some point next year it's certainly possible that Android could surpass iOS in total number of devices activated.

Music News : Top 10 Songs Of The Year 2011

MTV's list of the Best Songs of 2011 is like one of those old late-night commercials for awesome sampler albums: You've got your pop hit, a bit of rock, some hip-hop, R&B and a tune or two that you just can't fully define, but which you definitely shook it to at some point over the past 12 months.
Last week, MTV correspondent Sway Calloway moderated a spirited roundtable discussion with some of our very own experts: James Montgomery and Rob Markman (MTV News), Yomi Desalu and Malika Quemerais (MTV Music and Talent) and Tamar Anitai and Nicole James (MTV.com). The panel managed to narrow it down to their top 10.
We will say that the year's ultimate "Party Rock Anthem" made the cut, as did Rihanna's waltz into the world of dubstep, a kitchen-sink empowerment anthem for anyone who's ever felt marginalized, and an unexpected smash about a school shooting that is so catchy you might miss the sinister lyrics. Two of rap's titans are also on the list, as is a pop princess who hopped on the Empowerment Express, an R&B singer who went the Dirty South route with two hip-hop icons, and a Latin rhymer asking for some eye contact over a club-banging beat.

10. "Firework," Katy Perry
fireworks katy perry offficial youtube video

Sure, its release as a single came in late 2010, but the true impact of "Firework" was felt in 2011. It rang in the New Year at #1, was Perry's top single of the year and is nominated for the Record of the Year Grammy. More importantly, the song's message touched fans all over the world as the pop star toured the globe. "I wrote this song for anyone who ever needed a song. To help them, to lift them up," she told the crowd when I saw her at New York's Nassau Coliseum this summer. The arena shook as every person sang along with her and pyro lit up the stage, raining down like a wall of sparklers. — John Mitchell
9. "Look at Me Now," Chris Brown
look at me now chris brown official youtube video

Tough, aggressive and completely unapologetic lyrically, Chris goes hard on the F.A.M.E. track, which also features rap heavy-hitters Busta Rhymes and Lil Wayne. Grinding production, bleeping noises and bumping beats answer Brown's siren call about not really caring very much what anyone thinks about him and his bad-boy rep. Why? Well, mostly because he's "fresh than a mother----er." Given Brown's nefarious past, it was a catchy, bold, brash statement from one of R&B's biggest young stars. — Jocelyn Vena
8. "N---as in Paris," Kanye West and Jay-Z
N---as in Paris Kanye West and Jay-Z official youtube video

Kanye West picked a fitting Will Ferrell sound bite for "N---as in Paris," but not even Yeezy could have predicted just how much his and Jay-Z's secondWatch the Throne single would get the people going. After leading with "Otis," the Throne's kinetic follow-up joint seems to be the ultimate people's choice. The brash title and profane hook ("Ball so hard mother----ers wanna fine me") doesn't exactly scream radio hit, but that's exactly what it has become, peaking at #1 on the Billboard Rap Songs chart. The song has become so popular that Hov and 'Ye have performed it as many as nine times in a single night during their WTT Tour run. Now that sh-- cray! —Rob Markman
7. "Pumped Up Kicks," Foster the People
pumped up kicks foster the people official youtube video

If you went to a rock club or major festival, turned on satellite radio, or visited any retail store that sells skinny jeans, you were likely entranced by the Los Angeles trio's breakout hit "Pumped Up Kicks." The combination of lyrics about a psychotic, gun-toting teen and cheery, New Wave-y bass bounce, seven-dwarves-worthy whistling, hypnotic electronic effects and former jingle writer Mark Foster's dreamy falsetto vocals revived the feel of mid-1990s alt-rock. Plus, as it turns out, this potential one-hit wonder ended up having plenty more to offer. — Gil Kaufman
6. "Give Me Everything," Pitbull
give me everything pitbull official youtube video

Pitbull is perhaps music's most underrated hitmaker, but if 2009's "I Know You Want Me" and "Hotel Room Service" weren't enough to convince the naysayers, the Cuban pop-rapper's omnipresent "Give Me Everything" should've done the trick in 2011. On paper, a song featuring Pit, Ne-Yo, Afrojack and sexy-siren Nayer might seem a bit all over the place, but by the end of the four-minute, 12-second jam, it all worked out quite nicely. There's a reason the one-night stand ode hit #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. The energetic dance groove, rapid rhymes and the track's infectious hook were choice ingredients for the perfect party record. — R.M.
5. "Born This Way," Lady Gaga
born this way lady gaga official youtube video

Quick, name another top 10 hit that seeks to empower the LGBT community, drag queens, the disabled or anyone who is "black, white beige, chola descent ... Lebanese ... orient." You can't, because nobody but Mother Monster has the cojones to release "Born This Way" as the first single off an eagerly anticipated sophomore album. The tune mixes soaring rhetoric with equally pulse-quickening beats. Of course, it was accompanied by a viscous-liquid-dripping seven-minute video that added to Gaga's mind-tripping visual canon and further established her as one of the biggest triple threats in music. — G.K.
4. "Party Rock Anthem," LMFAO
Lamfo party rock anthem official youtube video

LMFAO's ode to being the life of the party is the definition of a guilty pleasure, and it was an instant hit, topping the charts and playlists. With a fist-pumping beat and lyrics that are nearly as silly as the leopard-print pants Redfoo and SkyBlu typically rock, "Party Rock Anthem" had everyone from your grandma to Justin Bieber "shufflin'. " — J.V.
3. "We Found Love," Rihanna
We found love rihanna official youtube video

Rihanna fully embraced EDM on her Talk That Talk single. Produced by Calvin Harris, "We Found Love" is a swirling party track about love and loss. It took pop's obsession with dance music to the next level thanks to its killer production. Sparse at times and completely enthralling at others, "WFL" is sad and joyous all at once. A call back to '90s raves, the song made pop lovers want to break out their glow sticks and just dance. — J.V.
2. "Super Bass," Nicki Minaj
Super bass nicki minaj official youtube video

It wasn't Pink Friday's first single — hell, it wasn't even technically on the album's proper track list! — but "Super Bass" had all the right ingredients. There's the bright and airy guitar intro, which eventually builds into a full pop affair complete with a knocking 808 and, of course, that patented bass drum. Lyrically, Nicki threw a shout-out to 1980s rap legend Slick Rick and threatened to slap a chick all in an effort to woo her drug-dealing crush. Typically, cheery-sounding pop hits aren't so edgy, but the Harajuku Barbie has successfully elbowed her way into the spotlight alongside starlets like Katy Perry and Taylor Swift — and has done it her way.
1. "Rolling in the Deep," Adele
Rolling in the deep official youtube video

Was there any doubt? The megahit so dominated 2011 that calling it the Song of the Year is putting it mildly. And we're not just talking commercially — though it was the year's best-selling track — or critically, mostly because focusing on those details fails to tell the whole story. Consider it the anthem to end all anthems, the feel-bad song of our time, the antidote for the Auto-Tuned masses. But maybe it's best just to call it Adele's coronation into the ranks of the all-time greats. She's now and forever the Queen of Pain. Long may she reign.

Movie News : G.I. Joe: Retaliation Official Trailer And Cast Info

While it's definitely more than fair to say opinions are mixed on G.I. Joe: Rise Of The Cobra, the trailer for G.I. Joe: Retaliation looks like it has made ninja leaps and bounds in quality. Jam-packed with explosive moments and fanboy teasers, we're thoroughly psyched to see more from this follow-up film. With new faces taking center stage and the basic plot laid out for us, we're more than ready to enjoy the sweet nostalgia from the franchise as it hits theaters in June.

Here's the trailer if you've been living under a rock. And if that's true, we won't judge since you were probably there to hide from Snake Eyes.

Storm Shadow returns for G.I. Joe 2

Storm Shadow Returns

Remember when Snake Eyes stabbed Storm Shadow through the torso and and he fell off a ledge? Tis but a scratch! The deadly combatant returns in G.I. Joe: Retaliation! Based on what we've seen in the trailer, it looks like Thomas will have plenty of opportunities to showcase his talents with pointy objects. Expect to see a lot of blood stain that blade, moviegoers!

Snake Eyes

No G.I. Joe movie would be complete without the silent death machine, Snake Eyes. One simply can't go wrong with the inclusion of Snake Eyes. His uncanny skills and awesome attire make him more than deserving of being a fan-favorite. Even if the movie is total garbage, we're betting the legendary G.I. Joe's action scenes will be the highlight of the movie.

Roadblock (The Rock!)

Duke had his time to shine and now it's time for Roadblock to step into the spotlight. Equipped with his signature heavy machine gun, it looks like Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson will serve as the main protagonist and will kick all sorts of ass in G.I. Joe: Retaliation. Could we see a rock bottom on Firefly or a people's elbow on Storm Shadow? Unlikely, but he's one hell of an action star and we look forward to seeing his melee bouts in June.

Ray Stevenson as Frank Castle in The Punisher War Zone

Firefly (Ray Stevenson)

The villainous mercenary will make his silver screen debut in G.I. Joe: Retaliation this June. Played by Ray Stevenson, the Cobra combatant serves as a saboteur, and seeing as Cobra has taken over the country, we imagine he'll be a busy man. Plus, the trailer gave us a look at Stevenson getting into a slugfest with Johnson. After acting like a boss in Punisher: War Zone, we have very high hopes for that fight.

Duke Dead?

Will the real American hero meet his end in G.I. Joe: Retaliation? From the looks of the trailer, all signs are pointing to yes. It looks like ole' Channing Tatum is killed off during an ambush out in the open. Will he go down in a blaze of glory and eat a rocket before having the opportunity to do anything impressive during this follow-up? With all of the awesomeness going on during the rest of the trailer, we can't exactly say we're sad to see him go.

Cobra Commander

Remember that God awful Cobra Commander helment in G.I. Joe: Rise Of The Cobra? We're pleased to say it is no more! Take a gander at the new and improved helmet that appears to be inspired by the classic cartoon, G.I. Joe: A Real American Hero.

Bruce Willis

Unlike Danny Glover, Bruce Willis will never be too old for this sh*t. The Die Hard star will play as General Joseph Colton, and as seen in the trailer, he has no gripe with doing his own dirty work. I'm sure many yelled "yippie ki-yay, mother f*cker!" when he showed up in the back of a vehicle and owned some noobs with an assault rifle. Willis is a busy man, but he always has time for a shootout with the Joes.

Tech News : Transfer Your All File To iPhone Without iTunes

For all the features that iTunes offers, it’s still one of the least convenient ways of managing the content of your iDevice. Its performance is hardly spectacular, its usability is mediocre and its inability to upload files to a single device from multiple computers is downright baffling. Enter CopyTrans – a third party app that promises to allow uploading content to your iPhone/iPad/iPod without the hassle of the official Apple software.

How To Transfer Your All File To iPhone Without iTunes

Compatible with all iOS versions, CopyTrans lets you drag and drop single files to your iDevice. It works with music tracks, videos and even apps now so chances are you’ll only need iTunes rarely. There’s no need to sync the whole library either, so transfers are much quicker and convenient here.

The best news is that CopyTrans doesn’t require jailbreak, so there’s no risking your warranty to get it up and running.

Now, for the bad bit. The software is paid for and while it’s no Photoshop, it’s not cheap either. You’d need to shell $39.96 for the full package, while individual components (that let you transfer just one type of files) go for either $14.99 or $19.99.

Check out the brief video demo and if you think that freedom from the iTunes shackles is worth that amount follow the source link to get your copy of CopyTrans.

Movie News : Kya Super Kool Hai Hum Official Trailer

In the 50 second trailer we noticed a few unusual things, firstly the trailer is far too short for a Bollywood film, secondly we can’t see the cast members and thirdly, who’s the actress? It was rumoured, Bipasha Basu will be romancing the original male cast, Tusshar Kapoor and Ritesh Deshmukh so we’re hoping someone from the team confirms their leading lady soon.

Moving onto the films music, while the original film had a track called, Dil Mera, which was sung by UK artists, Jay Sean, Juggy D and Veronica, we wonder if the team have roped in any more British Asian acts for the sequel?

Right then all you super kool dudes, who wants to see more trailers to Kya Super Kool Hain Hum?

Google is introducing Currents, a newsreader application enabling users to explore online magazines and other digital content optimized for access via touch-enabled smartphones and tablets.

Optimized for devices running Google's Android mobile operating as well as rival Apple's iPhone and iPad, Currents touts full-length articles from more than 150 publisher partners, including PBS, Forbes, Fast Company, Saveur and The Huffington Post. All content is available for free--users simply download the Currents app and subscribe to publications they wish to read. Users can also add RSS, video and photo feeds, public Google+ streams and Google Reader subscriptions they're already following--a trending tab recommends related content tailored for each user's individual tastes.

"Alongside Google Currents, we're also launching a self-service platform that gives publishers the flexibility to design, brand and customize their web content," product manager Mussie Shore and technical lead Sami Shalabi write on the Official Google Mobile Blog. "For example, if you're a small regional news outlet, a non-profit organization without access to a mobile development team, or a national TV network with web content, you can effortlessly create hands-on digital publications for Google Currents."

Currents additionally integrates with the fledgling Google+ social network, enabling users to share articles and videos with contacts in their circles. Publishers can also link their account with Google Analytics to gain insight into their consumers' content preferences, device use and geographic distribution.

Reports of the Currents project first surfaced in mid-September--known at that time as Propeller, the app was touted as Google's response to Flipboard, the popular iPad application that lays out personalized headlines, photos, videos and social media content in a magazine-like format. Insiders say Google entered negotiations to acquire Flipboard last year, but the startup declined Google's overtures. Google reportedly told Flipboard that if the two sides could not reach an agreement, it would introduce its own magazine-style social reader app, joining other Flipboard rivals including Yahoo's Livestand and Zite.

Flipboard, first launched for Apple's iPad tablet in mid-2010, finally expanded to the iPhone earlier this week in a redesigned format optimized for more efficient smartphone access. While Flipboard readers on the iPad flip through magazine-like pages of content, the iPhone experience employs a vertical, thumb-swipe approach enabling users to access content while holding the device in one hand.

Tech News : Google Chrome Highest Rising Browser Of The Year 2011

In our Top Consumer Products of 2011 list, we selected the Chrome web browser as our number 1 pick. Its market share has grown over 2011 and it's on track to surpass Firefox as the 2nd most popular browser on the desktop (exactly when it passes Firefox depends on whose statistics you read). Over 2011 Google has demonstrated, in both user numbers and technical innovation, that Chrome is the most significant challenge to Microsoft's dominance of the browser market since the days of Netscape Navigator in the late 90s.

Meanwhile, in the mobile browser market, Apple's Safari has risen over 12 percentage points to have a 62% share of that market, according to leading Internet statistics provider Net Applications. However, Apple will have to continue to look over its shoulder at Android, which has also gained over 2011. Let's look more closely at how the desktop and mobile browser markets changed over 2011.

In the desktop market, the main story is how Chrome has affected Firefox. Just three years ago, in our Top Consumer Products of 2008 list, we had Firefox at number 2, behind only Twitter. It goes to show how quickly things can change on the Web.

The latest data from Net Applications still shows Microsoft's Internet Explorer at over 50% market share on desktops (52.63%). Chrome (17.62%) is less than 5 percentage points below Firefox (22.52%), which hangs onto second spot for now. Safari has 5.43% and Opera 1.56%.

The trends data is more telling. Since December 2010, only Chrome and Safari have increased their market share. IE, Firefox and Opera all declined. Here are the gains and losses:

  • IE: -6.63%
  • Firefox: -1.17%
  • Chrome: +7.26%
  • Safari: +1.41%
  • Opera: -0.71%

Our own browser statistics for justnewsnow show an even bigger swing towards Chrome, which is understandable, as we have a much more tech-savvy audience compared to the data from Net Applications. Chrome became the number 1 browser among RWW readers during 2011. Last month it was about 36%, up 12% from last November. Firefox is our number 2 browser at about 29%, down nearly 4% over the year.

Among our own writers, most now use Chrome as their primary desktop browser. Very few use Firefox.

Of course in an increasingly multi-device world, mobile browser share is very important too. On that front, according to Net Applications, Safari has risen 12.86% to now have 62.03% of the mobile browser share. The next best is Android browser at 18.60%. So Safari on mobile is now almost the equivalent of IE on desktop.

The big losers over 2011 in the mobile browser market have been Opera Mini (-13.4%), Symbian (-4.94%) and Blackberry (-0.87%, but it only has 2.03% share overall). Opera, despite its constant innovation, is really struggling to keep hold of users on both its favored mobile platform and on the desktop.

Google & Apple Have The Momentum Heading Into 2012

In Net Application's statistics, Firefox is holding grimly on in the desktop browser market. But Chrome has the momentum and, as Jon Mitchell pointed out, it has done much of the innovating in this market over 2011. justnewsnow's own statistics have Chrome as a clear number 1, which is typically a good indicator of where the mainstream is heading. All of this suggests that Chrome will overtake Firefox as the number 2 browser very soon. Then Google is set to make a run at dethroning Microsoft from number 1, but that's still at least a couple of years away.

On the mobile browser side, Apple is becoming increasingly dominant. However the rapid growth of the Android platform will keep them on their toes, so it's unlikely that Apple will enjoy the monopoly that Microsoft had for over a decade in the desktop market.

Let us know in the comments what browsers you use on both desktop and mobile. Did you switch browsers during 2011? If so, tell us why.
